Kits for Kids Donation Drive

by Staff Writer / Anaheim Ducks

The Ducks announced today that the Wild Wingers Kids Club and Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) have teamed up for the third annual Kits for Kids Donation Drive, giving Ducks fans the opportunity to purchase Kids Club kits for CHOC patients. Every $20 Kids Club kit purchased by Ducks fans will be personally delivered by Ducks players when the team makes its holiday visit to the hospital in December.

“The donation drive has proven to be a great occasion for our fans to help make a difference,” said Ducks Director of Fan Development Matt Savant. “Last year was a tremendous success and we hope Ducks fans continue to participate in lifting holiday spirits at CHOC.”

Over 1,600 Kids Club kits were purchased by Ducks fans last year in time for the holidays. As a token of gratitude, donors who purchase two Kids Club kits will receive an autographed Ducks player photo. Those who purchase five kits will automatically be entered for a chance to meet Ducks forward Ryan Getzlaf after an upcoming home game at Honda Center. All donors who purchase 10-or-more kits will be entered into a drawing to win a 20-person suite for a Ducks game this season.

CHOC patients who receive a kit will enjoy such benefits as one ticket voucher to a select 2008-09 Anaheim Ducks home game, a Kids Club hanging calendar, beanie, long-sleeved shirt, light-up slap shot shaker and water bottle. In addition, every patient receives a Wild Wingers Kids Club ID Duck Tag, which provides discounts to Knott’s Berry Farm, San Diego Zoo, Discovery Science Center, Aquarium of the Pacific, Hockey Giant, and much more. Kits also contain tickets to Ducks parties including the annual End of the Year Party with a special appearance by Getzlaf.
