Ducks Well-Represented at World Juniors

The Ducks will well-represented at the upcoming IIHF World Junior Championship, which will begin Saturday in Saskatoon and Regina, Saskatchewan.

The Ducks have seven prospects playing in the competition, including two on Team USA -- defenseman Jake Gardiner of the University of Wisconsin (Anaheim's first-round pick and 17th overall in the 2008 NHL entry draft) and center Kyle Palmieri of Notre Dame (26th pick in 2009).

Defenseman Luca Sbisa, who began this season with the Ducks but was returned to his junior team in Lethbridge, Canada, will play for Switzerland.

Also named to their respective national teams were center Brandon McMillan of Canada (chosen 85th in 2008), defenseman Sami Vatanen of Finland (106th last June), goaltender Igor Bobkov of Russia (76th last June), center Radoslav Illo of Slovakia (136th last June)

The NHL network will air show 16 games of the tournament, all in high definition.
