The Ducks will make their annual holiday visit to CHOC Children’s Orange campus on Monday, Dec. 8 from 1:30 - 3 p.m. The club will make room-to-room visits and participate in playroom activities in an effort to brighten the season for patients receiving care during the holidays at CHOC.
“The Ducks understand the importance of the giving season,” said Ducks Director of Community Relations Wendy Yamagishi. “Our players feel fortunate to have the opportunity to lift the spirits of the children at CHOC and they look forward to doing it every holiday season.”
Ducks players will take part in various activities such as arts and crafts, air hockey and video games. The players will also make individual visits to children not well enough to take part in the festivities. Additionally, the Ducks players will be spending time with the patient’s siblings and parents as well as taking pictures and signing autographs for the families.
As they have done in the past, the players will distribute donated Wild Wingers Kids Club kits to the children of CHOC. The annual donation drive brought in over 1,600 Kids Club kits last winter and will continue this season until Jan. 1, 2009. The kits contributed by Ducks fans contain a variety of items such as game tickets and Ducks merchandise.
