The Ducks will participate in the International Ice Hockey Federation’s (IIHF) World Girls’ Ice Hockey Weekend on Sunday, Oct. 14 at THE RINKS – Westminster ICE presented by Honda. As part of the global IIHF awareness campaign, local participants are encouraged to bring a friend for the one-hour session beginning at 2:10 p.m.
This special Try Hockey For Free Day offers girls the chance to learn to play the game of hockey for free. Participants will receive instruction from Anaheim Lady Ducks coaches and players on the basics of hockey as well as learn how to skate properly. Girls will be provided with skates, shoulder and elbow pads, shin guards, a helmet, hockey pants, gloves and a jersey for the one-hour session.
With THE RINKS Development Program presented by Honda launch in February 2009, the Ducks operate six local skating facilities: three ice rinks (THE RINKS – Anaheim ICE, THE RINKS – Westminster ICE and THE RINKS –Yorba Linda ICE), as well as three inline facilities (THE RINKS – Huntington Beach Inline THE RINKS – Irvine Inline and THE RINKS – Corona Inline).
