The Ducks will host their third annual Social Media Night presented by YP on Wednesday, April 1 vs. the Edmonton Oilers at Honda Center.
Social Media Night will feature several interactive opportunities for fans via the Ducks’ various social media channels, the Ducks’ official mobile app, in-arena and on the Fox Sports West telecast. Fans will be encouraged to post on Twitter and Instagram using the #DucksSocial hashtag before and during the game. Many of those posts will be displayed throughout Honda Center and on the broadcast during Social Media Night. Fans are encouraged to arrive early for a unique element to be revealed during player warm-ups (approximately 6:30 p.m. PDT).
Social Media Night will also feature:
- A special “Tweet Your Seat” promotion in which fans can post their seat locations to Twitter and be chosen at random for a seat upgrade
- Ducks-branded FotoFWD consoles will be located throughout the arena, allowing fans to print a souvenir photo by posting to Twitter or Instagram using #DucksSocial
- Fans can choose various in-game entertainment features and win autographed merchandise by guessing which Ducks player will score the game's first goal
- Viewers of the Fox Sports West broadcast can have their questions answered on air by analyst Guy Hebert during intermissions by tweeting them to #AskGuy
In addition, the Ducks and Honda Center will introduce brand-new iBeacon technology in conjunction with the Ducks official mobile app. More than 200 iBeacons (provided by Radius Networks) have been installed at Honda Center and work with the Ducks mobile app to enable fans to receive location-based messages on their mobile devices while at Honda Center. The Ducks will use this technology and the updated Ducks mobile app to provide game-night information, discounts for concessions and Team Store merchandise, seat upgrade opportunities, exclusive video content, in-arena announcements and more.
