Ducks Recall Yonkman from Norfolk (AHL); Allen Placed on Injured Reserve

The Ducks have recalled defenseman Nolan Yonkman from the Norfolk Admirals, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL). In addition to today’s roster move, the Ducks have placed defenseman Bryan Allen (lower body) on Injured Reserve.

Yonkman, 32 (4/1/81), has earned one assist (0-1=1) in two games with the Ducks this season. The Punnichy, Saskatchewan native made his Anaheim debut on Nov. 26 at Dallas and scored his first point as a Duck on Nov. 29 vs. Calgary. Yonkman began the season with Norfolk, scoring 2-5=7 points with a +6 rating and 58 penalty minutes (PIM) in 31 AHL games. At the time of his recall, Yonkman ranked third on the Admirals in PIM and fourth in plus/minus.

Signed by Anaheim as a free agent on July 9, 2013, Yonkman has collected 1-9=10 points with a +7 rating and 140 PIM in 76 career NHL games. He made his NHL debut with Washington in 2001-02 and set career highs in points (7), assists (7) and games played (38) with the Capitals in 2005-06.
