The Ducks have reassigned center Chris Wagner
and defenseman Shea Theodore
to the San Diego Gulls, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Wagner, 24 (5/27/91), scored four goals (4-0=4) with 28 penalty minutes (PIM) in 43 games with the Ducks and Avalanche during the regular season. The 6-0, 195-pound forward began the 2015-16 campaign with Anaheim before being claimed on waivers by Colorado on Nov. 15. Wagner was claimed on waivers again by Anaheim and subsequently assigned to San Diego on Feb. 25. He also appeared in the first two games of the First Round of the 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs vs. Nashville.
Selected by Anaheim in the fifth round (122nd overall) of the 2010 NHL Draft, Wagner collected 6-4=10 points with a +1 rating and 22 PIM in 15 regular-season games with San Diego.
Theodore, 20 (8/3/95), earned 3-5=8 points with a +7 rating and two PIM in 19 regular-season games with the Ducks. Theodore made his NHL debut on Dec. 29 at Calgary and his Stanley Cup Playoff debut in Game 1 of the First Round on Apr. 15 vs. Nashville. The 6-2, 195-pound blueliner appeared in six of Anaheim’s seven postseason games, going scoreless.
Selected by Anaheim in the first round (26th overall) of the 2013 NHL Draft, Theodore scored 9-28=37 points with 34 PIM in 50 games with San Diego during the AHL regular season.
