The Ducks have reassigned left wing Nick Ritchie
to the San Diego Gulls, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Ritchie, 20 (12/5/95), earned one assist (0-1=1) with four penalty minutes (PIM) in 11 games for the Ducks this season. Recalled from San Diego on Nov. 14, Ritchie became the 11th youngest player to make his NHL debut with Anaheim at 19 years, 11 months and 11 days on Nov. 16 at Carolina. The 6-2, 232-pound winger recorded his first career NHL point (assist) in a 4-0 victory on Nov. 30 vs. Vancouver.
Selected by Anaheim in the first round (10th overall) of the 2014 NHL Draft, Ritchie has scored 9-3=12 points with a +3 rating and 10 PIM in 12 games with the Gulls this season. Ritchie returns to the AHL ranked tied for third among league rookies in goals. He also ranks tied for third overall in power-play goals (5) and leads in first goals (5).
