Ducks Prospect Noesen Suffers Season-Ending Knee Injury

by Staff Writer / Anaheim Ducks
Ducks prospect Stefan Noesen suffered a torn MCL and ACL in practice last week with the Norfolk Admirals, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL). The 20-year-old was declared out for the season Monday after medical tests in Anaheim.

Noesen, a 201-pound forward from Plano, Texas, was acquired from the Ottawa Senators along with Jakob Silfverberg and a first-round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, in exchange for Bobby Ryan on July 5.

Noesen earned 99-121=220 points over four junior hockey seasons with the Plymouth Whalers of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). He picked up 25-28=53 points with a +7 rating and 53 PIM in 51 contests with the Whalers this past season. A 6-2, 205-pound winger from Plano, TX, Noesen added 7-12=19 points with a +15 rating in 15 postseason contests in 2012-13, ranking second on the club in points and plus/minus. He helped the Whalers to the OHL’s Eastern Conference Finals.
