Ducks Kick Off Rink Tour Speaking Series with Hiller, Sbisa

by Staff Writer / Anaheim Ducks
Ducks goaltender Jonas Hiller and defenseman Luca Sbisa will appear at THE RINKS – Irvine Inline this Saturday, Nov. 12 as part of the 2011-12 Rink Tour Speaking Series. The first in a four-part annual series in which Ducks players visit local partner rinks, Hiller and Sbisa will meet with fans for an informal talk and Question & Answer session, and sign autographs. Hosted by Ducks radio analyst Dan Wood, the Rink Tour Speaking Series is part of the Anaheim Ducks G.O.A.L. Hockey Program (Growth, Outreach & Awareness Locally).

Saturday’s event with Hiller and Sbisa at Irvine Inline will begin at 1:30 p.m. Fans in attendance will also have the opportunity to get an up-close look at Hiller’s special “Movember” mask, which depicts his teammates with moustaches drawn-on their faces in recognition of the month-long campaign to raise awareness and funds for men’s health issues, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men.

The G.O.A.L. Hockey Program is a grass-roots initiative created to develop community-based projects that promote and educate local youth about the sport of hockey and the Anaheim Ducks. Programs include: ‘Learn to Play’ sessions, the Rink Tour Speaking Series, the Mini 1-on-1 Tournament, All-Star Academies, S.C.O.R.E. a G.O.A.L., USA Hockey Coaching Clinic, the Anaheim Ducks High School Hockey All-Star Game and the Throw-Back Classic Adult Hockey Tournament. For more information on the Anaheim Ducks Rink Tour Speaking Series, visit DucksGoal.com and Facebook page at facebook.com/ducksgoal. Each Rink Tour Speaking Series date is free and open to the public. The remainder of the 2011-12 series will be announced at a later date.

THE RINKS – Irvine Inline is located in central Irvine, just off Jamboree and Barranca (3150 Barranca Parkway, Irvine, 92606), and in close proximity to The District in Tustin. With THE RINKS Development Program presented by Honda launch in February 2009, the Ducks now operate five local skating facilities: two ice rinks and three inline facilities. Irvine Inline was added in September 2011, joining locations in Anaheim (THE RINKS - Anaheim ICE), Westminster (THE RINKS - Westminster ICE), Corona (THE RINKS - Corona Inline), and Huntington Beach (THE RINKS - Huntington Beach Inline).
