The Ducks have acquired forward Brandon Pirri from the Florida Panthers in exchange for a sixth-round selection in the 2016 NHL Draft.
Pirri, 24 (4/10/91), has appeared in 157 career NHL games with Chicago and Florida, collecting 46-29=75 points with a +9 rating and 52 penalty minutes (PIM). The 6-0, 183-pound forward posted 11-13=24 points in 52 games this season with Florida and has 33 goals in his last two NHL seasons with the Panthers (101 games).
The Toronto native led the American Hockey League (AHL) in scoring for the 2012-13 season, posting 22-53=75 points in 76 games with the Rockford IceHogs (Chicago’s AHL affiliate). His 53 assists also marked a league-best. Pirri was selected in the second round (59th overall) of the 2009 NHL Draft by the Chicago Blackhawks.
