Ducks Acquire D Holzer from Toronto in Exchange for D Brewer and Fifth-Round Selection in 2016 Draft

The Ducks have acquired defenseman Korbinian Holzer from the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for defenseman Eric Brewer and Anaheim’s fifth-round selection in the 2016 NHL Draft.

Holzer, 27 (2/16/88), has collected 2-7=9 points with 55 penalty minutes (PIM) in 58 career NHL games with Toronto. Holzer has set career highs this season in points (0-6=6), assists and appearances this season, while logging 17:06 time-on-ice. A native of Munich, Germany, Holzer was selected by the Maple Leafs in the fourth round (111th overall) of the 2006 NHL Draft.

Brewer, 35 (4/17/79), combined for 1-5=6 points with 24 PIM in 26 games with the Ducks and Tampa Bay Lightning this season. A native of Vernon, British Columbia, Brewer was acquired from Tampa Bay in exchange for a third-round selection in the 2015 NHL Draft. He has appeared in 991 career NHL games, scoring 75-191=266 points with 780 PIM.
