There's winning the Stanley Cup, and then there's winning it in style.

Which is exactly what the New Jersey Devils did in 2000.

Deadlocked at 1-1 after sixty minutes of play against the Dallas Stars, the two teams were headed for extra time, neither team had scored since the 6:27 of the second period when Dallas' Mike Kean scored 1:09 after Scott Niedermayer's shorthanded goal that opened the game's scoring.

Next goal will win it all.

An added 20 minutes simply wasn't enough to end it all. There were a few tense moments when Jason Arnott went to the penalty box, called for a cross-check in the first overtime period with under two minutes to play, but he more than made up for it shortly thereafter.

It's a play etched in New Jersey Devils fans' minds.

The blind pass from Patrik Elias, the backhand from the corner, right to his teammate Jason Arnott.

At 8:08 of double overtime, Arnott was in alone on Ed Belfour and one-timed the puck right into the net.

The job was done.

New Jersey, on this day in 2000, captured the second Stanley Cup in franchise history.
