Speed demons take jerseys to new heights

Ernest of Parlin, N.J., with friends Robin, Ryan, and Roger, speeded to victory in August's Hot Summer Photo Contest with his pic of the foursome at takeoff on the roller coaster, which is billed as the fastest and tallest in the world.

Kingda Ka propels riders from 0 to 128 mph in 3.5 seconds before climbing 456 feet into the air, according to the Six Flags web site.

"There were a few fellow Devils fans in line that were cheering us on," Ernest said. "It was the best ride ever."

The group also represented the Devils Legion on Nitro, a 230-ft. coaster that launches riders over a 22-story drop at speeds of 80 mph.
For earning the top prize in the final month of the contest, Ernest will receive a Devils puck autographed by four-time Vezina Trophy winner Martin Brodeur. His entry rounded out a trio of summer winners, including Debbie of West Milford, N.J., and Alanna of Nesconset, N.Y. would like to thank everyone that participated in the Hot Summer Photo Contest, and reminds every Devils fan to keep those Legion photos coming throughout the 2008-09 season!
