There is both good and bad when it comes to the latest medical updates for the New Jersey Devils.
The most recent trip to Carolina and Florida decimated the blueline for the Devils taking out an entire pairing.
John Marino played just 11:38 against the Hurricanes in Carolina and did not take a shift in the third period, leaving the game with what has now been deemed an upper-body injury.
Today, Lindy Ruff shared that Marino's injury will keep him out week-to-week saying, "He is a little bit longer, he'll be week-to-week, he's an upper-body injury that we'll look at in that type of time-frame."
Ryan Graves status isn't as clear at the moment as he still has to meet with the team doctors.
"He's going to be out tonight," Ruff shared. "He's going to see doctors tonight, lower-body injury. For the short-term, he's out."
Graves left the game against the Florida Panthers after getting caught in a board battle.
The good news is that Ondrej Palat, who hasn't played since the sixth game of the season with a groin injury, is close to a return.
Palat underwent groin surgery on Nov. 1 and has since been recovering.
"Ondrej Palat is getting closer, skating, full workouts now. He's close. I can say he's close to joining the team for practice, I don't have that date in mind, but it is close."
