Numbers Blunders
by Anthony Oliva / New Jersey DevilsIn what I consider to be quite a gaff, Canada Hockey Place is selling Russian Federation Evgeni Malkin jerseys with the number "71" emblazoned on the back and sleeves. Why is that a problem? Well, he's number "11."
Oops. |
The only reason I even noticed this error is because I was watching Ilya Kovalchuk, and distinctly remember him being "71" out on the ice.
When I pointed all this out to an employee of the store, he pulled out a Kovalchuk tee shirt with the number "17," as if that pre-shrunk cotton tee was the end-all, be-all of omniscence and the guys wearing the sweaters on the ice were wrong.
