Team Notes

• The Devils closed out the road portion of their preseason schedule and improved to 2-4-0 overall.

• Philadelphia outshot New Jersey, 29-27.

Player Notes

Keith Kinkaid (27 saves) made his third start of the preseason and improved to 2-1-0.

Tuomo Ruutu scored his first goal of the preseason 3:00 into the contest to give the Devils a 1-0 lead.

Adam Henrique's power play goal at 2:05 of the second period tied the game at 2-2. It was his first goal/point of the preseason.

Travis Zajac scored the game-winning goal at 17:27 of the second and added an empty-netter, his first goals/points in three appearances this preseason. He also went 12/19 (63.2%) in the face-off circle.

Jacob Josefson and Damon Severson each recorded 2a on the night. Severson now leads New Jersey with 3a/pts during the preseason.

Josefson also scored in the mandatory 3-on-3 overtime demonstration following the game.

Kyle Palmieri registered the primary assist on Henrique's tally and now has points in back-to-back games (1g-1a-2pts).

David Schlemko made his preseason debut after missing the first five games due to a groin injury.

Lee Stempniak, who agreed to a PTO with New Jersey on September 16, was +2 and led all forwards in TOI with 19:35 of action tonight.
