Yesterday afternoon, I got to be on-hand for an Olympic photo shoot featuring Zach Parise
and Jamie Langenbrunner. They posed for Getty Images, both separately and together. Parise also had a brief shoot with Sports Illustrated for a spread in an upcoming issue, as well as an interview with NBC's Bruce Beck.
In all, the extracurricular activities lasted about 90 minutes, and while average people like you and I typically see only the finished product – polished photographs and TV interviews of our celebrities and heroes – there's a lot of thankless work that goes into it. There's a ton of patience required to stand there, pose, freeze for a few minutes, turn to the right, freeze again, turn to the left... You get the idea. The result may be glamourous, but the process is anything but.
With that, we've got two galleries for you today: the images from Getty and some behind-the-scenes photos of the shoot itself. Enjoy!Send all your Olympic-related questions and comments to firstname.lastname@example.org.
