Devils' annual Coat Drive set for January 4

by Staff Writer / New Jersey Devils – The Devils’ annual Coat Drive will take place this Sunday, January 4, 2009 when the club hosts the Ottawa Senators at Prudential Center at 5 p.m.  For the 13th straight season, the Devils have teamed-up with Jersey Cares.

Volunteers from Jersey Cares will be located at the PNC Bank and Verizon Towers, the Lafayette Street and VIP entrances, and the Ford Lincoln Mercury Garage entrance to collect the coats.  The wives/girlfriends of Devils’ players will also be on hand to assist.

Fans making a donation will be eligible to win autographed Devils’ memorabilia. Following the collection, the coats will be distributed by Jersey Cares to more than 200 non-profit agencies in New Jersey including shelters, social service organizations, senior citizen centers, and schools.
Jersey Cares, a 15-year-old organization, makes volunteering easy and accessible for people who want to make a difference. In 2008, Jersey Cares planned and managed volunteer projects that provided more than 20,000 hours of service to the community.
