1. This is the second meeting between the two clubs in 11 days. The Devils rode multi-point games from Adam Henrique, Mike Cammalleri and Damon Severson to a 4-2 win over the Panthers at Prudential Center on Dec. 6.

2. The Devils have points in six of their last seven games (4-1-2) and nine of their last 12 (6-3-3). John Hynes' club is 2-0-1 in their last three home games and 7-6-3 at The Rock overall.

3. Tuomo Ruutu returns to the lineup tonight after missing 26 games with a fractured foot. He's one three players set to play in their 100th games with the Devils tonight, along with Cammalleri and Jordin Tootoo.

4. Cory Schneider has allowed two goals or less in 16 of his last 19 starts since Oct. 29. He’s 10-6-3 with two shutouts, a 1.97 goals-against average & .932 save percentage during that stretch. Schneider ranks fifth (tie) in the NHL in wins (14), seventh in GAA (2.09) and eighth in save percentage (.927).

5. New Jersey is 6-0-2 vs. the Atlantic Division this season, including 2-0-1 at home.

6. Today in 1984, Rocky Trottier scored vs. Andy Moog on the first penalty shot attempt in Devils’ history in a 5-2 victory over Edmonton, the team’s first-ever win vs. the Oilers.
