EL SEGUNDO, Calif.  - Well, we made it.

It took six hours by bus, but the 26 players attending this week's Rookie Camp arrived safely in El Segundo, Calif., on Tuesday night. They are here to play two games against their peers with the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday night and Thursday afternoon. I invite you to visit over the next few days for coverage of both games. On Thursday, will provide a live stream of the game beginning at 2 p.m.

Assistant General Manager Brad Treliving, Director of Prospect Development Sean Burke and coaches Greg Ireland and Ray Edwards met after dinner tonight to set the lines and defensive pairings for Wednesday's game. Joel Gistedt is expected to start in goal on Wednesday.

The ride here was a long one, but watching a few good movies helped pass the time. I still laugh every time I see the wedding scene from Old School, especially when the band is singing Total Eclipse of the Heart. We also watched a documentary about former heavywieght champion Mike Tyson. What a fascinating life he has lived. But I digress...

Forward Evan Bloodoff, whom the Coyotes selected with the 157th pick in this year's NHL Entry Draft, did not make the trip because of a nagging knee injury that likely will require surgery.

Here are the players who made the trip:
