Team Canada Invites Gormley, Visentin to National Jr. Selection Camp

GLENDALE, AZ --- Both Phoenix Coyotes’ 2010 first round draft selections, Brandon Gormley (13th overall) and Mark Visentin (27th overall, were selected today by Hockey Canada to participate in Canada’s National Junior Team Selection Camp.

Gormley (2/18/92), 6-foot-2, 192 pounds, has played in 20 games with the Moncton Wildcats (Quebec Major Junior Hockey League); registering 23 points (9-14-23), good for fourth overall among QMJHL defenseman. He has also been whistled for 24 penalty minutes. Gormley sustained a lower-body injury this past Friday against Lewiston and his status to attend the camp is unknown at this time.

Visentin (8/7/92), 6-foot-2, 198 pounds, has posted a 10-4-3 record in 17 games with the Niagara Ice Dogs (Ontario Hockey League). He currently ranks fourth overall among goaltenders in the OHL with a 2.50 Goals Against Average and a .912 Save Percentage.

The camp will take place from December 12-15 in Toronto, Ontario. The final roster will be announced at the conclusion of camp, and will represent Canada at the 2011 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship in Buffalo, New York from December 26 – January 5.
