Urman’s parents, Eitan and Ronit Urman, are long-time Coyotes season-ticket holders whom the team asked to drop the puck as a thank you for their support over the years.
The Urmans were unaware their son Daniel was home early from serving a tour in Afghanistan, and he attempted to sneak up behind them to deliver the ceremonial puck at center ice. But Eitan spotted Daniel as he made his way onto the ice, sprinted to him, jumped into his arms and the two men fell to the ice in a hug for the ages.
The Urmans have been season-ticket holders since the team moved to the Valley back in 1996.
Sgt. Urman is an Intelligence Analyst with the 3rd battalion, 3rd special force group (airbourne) and he is stationed at Ft. Bragg in North Carolina. He has served two tours in Afghanistan.
Sgt. Urman enjoys playing hockey and was a defenseman for the Junior Coyotes youth league team when he was a kid growing up in Scottsdale.
