Last week, USA Hockey extended invitations to their National Junior Evaluation Camp taking place August 3-11 in Lake Placid, New York. Among the 45 players invited to the camp are Phoenix Coyotes prospects Peter Mueller and Chris Summers
Mueller, a first round pick (8th overall) in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, spent last season with the Everett Silvertips of the Western Hockey League (WHL) where he played in 51 games, scoring 21 goals and 57 assist for 78 points.
Summers, a defenseman, was also a Coyotes’ first round pick in 2006, (29th overall) who played last season at the University of Michigan scoring 14 points and had 58 PIM’s in 41 games.
Also invited to the camp are forwards Patrick Kane and James Van Riemsdyk, who are currently listed two and three among North American Skaters by the NHL’s Central Scouting Service. The Coyotes currently own the third overall pick in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft and will likely have the option of taking either Kane or Van Riemsdyk.
The NHL Entry Draft will be held in Columbus, Ohio on June 22nd and 23rd. For the latest news on the Coyotes’ selections in this years’ draft, log on to www.PhoenixCoyotes.com
