Doan, who hasn’t played since Dec. 4 as he battles Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever symptoms, spent about 20 minutes on the ice with backup goalie Thomas Greiss and the players who will be scratched for Friday’s home game vs. San Jose.
“It’s awful good to see him, especially when he comes in with a smiling face,” Head Coach Dave Tippett said. “He’s starting to look a little more like himself. It’s certainly a positive sign.”
Tippett said there is no timetable in place for Doan’s return to practice with teammates.
“We’re in uncharted waters here,” Tippett said when asked when he thinks Doan could return. “Hopefully soon.”
After skating, Doan spent time interacting with fans who waited for him to pass them as he walked to the dressing room. As he always does, Doan addressed them all.
