GLENDALE, Ariz. – Phoenix Coyotes President and Chief Operating Officer Douglas Moss has announced that the team will give out a Shane Doan Bobblehead figure, courtesy of Desert Schools Federal Credit Union, to the first 10,000 fans in attendance at the Coyotes’ game versus the Minnesota Wild on Saturday, Jan. 16 at Arena.

“It is an honor to have Shane Doan, one of the classiest and most genuine individuals in professional sports, as the face of our franchise,” said Moss. “He is also a fan favorite, and recognizing him with his own Bobblehead is just one small way for us to show our appreciation for what he means to the Coyotes.”

Doan, now in his sixth season as captain of the Coyotes, has spent his entire 14-year NHL career with the organization, beginning in 1995 when he was a rookie with the Winnipeg Jets. He has appeared in 977 career games with the organization, more than any other player in franchise history other than Teppo Numminen (1,098 games played). Doan also ranks 3rd on the franchise’s all-time points list (633) and fourth in both goals (261) and assists (372). He is also the organization’s all-time leader in game-winning goals (44) and is one of only three players in franchise history, along with Dale Hawerchuk and Keith Tkachuk, to score at least 20 goals in nine consecutive seasons.

A two-time NHL All-Star, Doan has led the Coyotes in scoring each of the past five seasons. In addition, he has served as team captain for Canada in the last three IIHF World Championship tournaments, leading his squad to a gold medal (2007) and two silver medals (2008, 2009). A native of Halkirk, Alberta, Doan was also a member of the 2006 Canadian Olympic team.

The Coyotes also announced that the AT&T Coyotes Blanket giveaway has been moved from Dec. 12 to Saturday, Dec. 26. The first 10,000 fans in attendance at the Coyotes-Kings game on Dec. 26 will receive a Coyotes Blanket courtesy of AT&T.
