GLENDALE, ARIZONA – The Arizona Coyotes announced today that the team will be holding an intra-squad game on Thursday, Sept. 24 at 6:00 p.m. at Gila River Arena. The game is free and open to the public and there will be no charge for parking. All of the Coyotes players are expected to play in the game including Shane Doan, Oliver Ekman-Larsson, Antoine Vermette, Mikkel Boedker and Mike Smith. The Coyotes will live stream the Red & White intra-squad game at ArizonaCoyotes.com and will also live stream the first two hours of veterans’ camp (9-11 am) on Friday, Sept. 18.
Fans attending the game are encouraged to bring a new (12-18 inches) Teddy Bear to Gila River Arena to participate in a post-game Teddy Bear Toss. Once the game is over, the Coyotes PA announcer will ask all fans to throw a new Teddy Bear on the ice. All the bears will be collected and distributed to Glendale Police and Fire Departments who will use these bears as a “first point of contact” at crime scenes and accidents to immediately try to comfort children.
The Coyotes will play their final preseason game on Friday, Oct. 2 versus the San Jose Sharks. Game time is 7:00 p.m. at Gila River Arena. The Coyotes will open the 2015-16 NHL regular season on Friday, Oct. 9 and L.A. and then return to Arizona for their home opener on Saturday, Oct. 10 versus Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins. Game time is 7:00 p.m. at Gila River Arena.
