Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Michael Barnett announced today that the Coyotes have recalled rookie right wing Enver Lisin from the San Antonio Rampage - the Coyotes' top minor league affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Lisin, 20, has scored two goals and recorded four penalty minutes (PIM) in two games with San Antonio this season. The Moscow native scored three goals in five games to help lead the Coyotes to the championship at the 2006 Pacific Division Shootout - a four-team rookie tournament played in El Segundo, California in September.
Lisin registered 7-5-12 and 26 PIM for Ak Bars Kazan of the Russian Superleague last season. He also scored three goals in 13 playoff games as Ak Bars Kazan won the Superleague championship. Over two seasons in Russia's top league, Lisin recorded 15-9-24 and 30 PIM in 96 games.
Lisin has represented Russia in each of the last two World Junior Championships. The 6-2, 190-pound forward scored two goals at the 2006 tournament while posting 2-3-5 and a plus-7 rating in six games at the 2005 World Junior Championships. Russia claimed the silver medal in both tournaments.
The Coyotes selected Lisin in the 2nd round (50th overall) of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
Lisin will be with the Coyotes when the team meets the Nashville Predators at Gaylord Entertainment Center on Saturday. The game will begin at 5:00 p.m. Arizona time and will be broadcast on AZ-TV and The Fan AM 1060.
