The Phoenix Coyotes have placed center Mike Ricci on the injured reserve list with a neck injury. He will be out of the Coyotes' lineup indefinitely.

Ricci, 35, injured his neck while working out this past off-season and subsequently had surgery to repair the injury. The native of Scarborough, Ontario initially returned to the Coyotes' lineup on Nov. 22 versus the New Jersey Devils.

In 1,099 career NHL games over 16 seasons, Ricci has registered 605 points (243 goals, 362 assists) and 974 penalty minutes with the Philadelphia Flyers, Quebec Nordiques, Colorado Avalanche, San Jose Sharks, and the Coyotes. Ricci has registered 0-1-1 and 4 penalty minutes in 7 games this season.
