Coyotes Assign Ekman-Larsson to AHL

GLENDALE, ARIZONA -- Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have assigned defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson to the San Antonio Rampage, the Coyotes American Hockey League affiliate.

In his rookie season, the 6-foot-2, 190 pound Ekman-Larsson has played 15 games with the Coyotes, collecting 4 assists and 12 penalty minutes. Ekman-Larsson has also played 4 games with the Rampage, registering 2 assists and 4 penalty minutes.

The 19-year-old native of Karlskrona, Sweden was drafted by the Coyotes in the first round (6th overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
