GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Michael Barnett announced today that the Coyotes have hired Mike Bahn as the team's strength and conditioning coordinator.  Bahn joins the organization from the Arizona Diamondbacks (MLB) where he served as the team's minor league strength and conditioning coordinator for the past four years.

Bahn will be responsible for the Coyotes overall strength and conditioning programs throughout the season.  In addition, he will work directly with Coyotes athletic therapist Chris Broadhurst and team doctors in the rehabilitation of all injured players.  Bahn will also play an important role in the planning and implementation of the off-season conditioning programs of all players in the organization.

While with the Diamondbacks (2002-2005), Bahn was responsible for developing spring training in-season and off-season programs for the club's six minor league affiliates.  He also assisted the club's athletic trainers with the final stages of player rehabilitation including throwing programs.  Bahn also worked with the Major League team during spring training and periodically throughout the season.

Bahn is a certified strength and conditioning specialist, health/fitness instructor and sports performance coach.  He received his Master of Science degree in Biomechanics from Western Washington University in 2001.  Prior to that, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science in 1993 at the University of Puget Sound.
