Washington, D.C. – March 23, 2006 – The Washington Capitals, Most Valuable Kids and 20th Century Fox have teamed up for an advance screening of “Ice Age: The Meltdown” Sunday, March 26 at 3 p.m. at the Regal Gallery Place Theatre next to the Verizon Center. Capitals players Shaone Morrisonn, Jamie Heward and Bryan Muir are scheduled to join approximately 225 kids from area non-profits for the special preview.

“It’s great to be able to spend time with a group of kids at an event like this,” said Jamie Heward. “The relationship with Most Valuable Kids is something that’s very important to the Capitals organization and Shaone, Bryan and I are excited to take part.”
Most Valuable Kids was founded in the summer of 2001 with the mission of providing underserved youths in the Washington area with the opportunity to attend local sports and entertainment events. In addition to the Capitals, MVK partners with the Washington Nationals, Antawn Jamison of the Washington Wizards and the University of Maryland. MVK also accepts online ticket donations from organizations as well as individuals who cannot use tickets to specific games.
“We are very lucky to have such a great relationship with the Washington Capitals and viewing the movie with Shaone, Jamie and Bryan will be a great treat for these deserving kids,” said Most Valuable Kids executive director Jamie Perry.  “Many of these youngsters may never have the opportunity to do something like this, so the screening will be a wonderful event for them.”
“Ice Age: The Meltdown” is rated PG and opens in theatres Friday, March 31. For more information on Most Valuable Kids visit
