by Staff Writer / Washington Capitals
Mercedes-Benz of Alexandria raised $6,820 for Washington Capitals Charities at its Community Partnership event on June 10. The annual event, held at the dealership, honors Mercedes-Benz of Alexandria’s customers while highlighting a local charity. This year Washington Capitals Charities was designated as the beneficiary. Mercedes-Benz of Alexandria presented the charity with a $2,500 check and raised an additional $1,345 through a raffle and $2,975 through a silent auction.

Caps coach Bruce Boudreau and defenseman Brian Pothier attended the event, signing autographs and taking photos with guests. The evening was hosted by Washington Wizards play-by-play announcer Steve Buckhantz and was attended by Caps front office personnel and Washington Capitals Charities board members.

As a beneficiary for the Mercedes-Benz of Alexandria Community Partnership event, Washington Capitals Charities will continue to receive $1,000 annually for having been selected.
