George Mason Elementary Win Click to Win Grand Prize

by Staff Writer / Washington Capitals
The Washington Capitals congratulate George Mason Elementary School in Alexandria, Va., for winning the 2007-08 Caps Care Click to Win grand prize. George Mason Elementary School had an attendance rate of 98% at the Capitals game against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday, April 3. The school had already won $1,500 from Washington Capitals Charities for having the highest attendance at the game and will now receive a player visit, a Capitals team-signed jersey to be displayed in the school and a new set of street hockey equipment.

Introduced in January 2008, Caps Care Click to Win is a Capitals community relations initiative that gives local schools the chance to win free Caps tickets and cash prizes. Washington Capitals Charities distributed $22,000 in grants to the 28 schools from Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia that attended Caps games at Verizon Center between January and April 2008.

Although Caps Care Click to Win is over for this year, be on the lookout for the program’s return on during the 2008-09 season.
