by Staff Writer / Washington Capitals

Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE) Foundation is bringing together the Washington Capitals, Mystics and Wizards and our fans to help make a difference in our community. Join us from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24, at the annual D.C. Public Schools (DCPS) Beautification Day. MSE Foundation and its teams will be hosting a project at Neval Thomas Elementary School in Northeast Washington.Troy Brouwer and Nicklas Backstrom from the Capitals and Jessica Moore from the Mystics are scheduled to participate along with Red Rockers and Wizard Girls. Volunteers are needed to help the Caps, Mystics and Wizards spruce up Thomas Elementary to prepare it for the start of the school year. Every volunteer will receive a free T-shirt and be provided with lunch at the conclusion of the project. Tasks that volunteers will be performing include painting, cleaning, sign making, gardening and helping teachers organize their classrooms.
