Washington Capitals players Steve Eminger, Alex Ovechkin
, Matt Pettinger and Brian Willsie hosted Lee Kurucz, Anthony Bozzi, Carene Clark and Nancy Rogers at Lucky Strike bowling alley in Washington, D.C., April 6. Kurucz was the winning bidder on a bowling party with the Caps at the “A”mazing Auction Night held by the players and their wives in March. The “A”mazing Auction raised more than $65,000 for Washington Capitals Charities and Athletes Against Autism. Kurucz’s bid of $4,100 for the bowling party was the highest bid of the evening.
Kurucz, Bozzi, Clark and Rogers showed up at Lucky Strike in style. They were all wearing personalized “Washington Capitals Charities” bowling shirts that included the date, the Caps logo and Eminger’s, Pettinger’s, Ovechkin’s and Willsie’s jersey numbers on the back. The Caps fans were treated to free food and drinks, and bowled three games with the Caps players.
Eminger had the high score of the night, bowling a 189 on his first game. Rogers wasn’t far behind, bowling a 183 on her final game. At the end of the evening the players signed all of the bowling shirts, along with player cards and took pictures with their bowling teammates.
