Capitals to Wear Third Jersey Presented by Boeing for 15 Home Dates in 2015-16

by Staff Writer / Washington Capitals

ARLINGTON, Va. – The Washington Capitals will wear their new third jersey, presented by Boeing and modeled after the team’s original red jersey, for 15 select home games during the 2015-16 season beginning on Wednesday, Dec. 16, vs. the Ottawa Senators.

The primary color for the uniform is red and closely resembles the team’s jersey worn from 1974-75 through 1994-95. The original Capitals wordmark is featured on the front of the jersey with six stars above it and five stars beneath the numbers on each sleeve. The Capitals will wear blue pants and red helmets with their third jerseys. The new third jersey will replace the white third jersey the Capitals wore from 2011-12 to 2014-15.

By supporting the third jersey, Boeing is helping celebrate Capitals history as it honors its own. Throughout the next year the company is commemorating its first 100 years as a global aerospace leader with exhibits, special events, and community activities around the world. More information can be found at Boeing.com.

The Capitals’ third jerseys are available at Verizon Center and Kettler Capitals Iceplex team stores.
