WASHINGTON, D.C. – February 23, 2007 – The Washington Capitals have recalled left wing Tomas Fleischmann from the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL), vice president and general manager George McPhee announced today.
This marks the fourth time Fleischmann, 22, has been recalled by the Capitals this season. The 6’1”, 190-pound native of Koprivinice, Czech Republic, has appeared in eight games this year for Washington and tallied an assist Nov. 4, 2006, in a 5-3 win against the Philadelphia Flyers. Fleischmann is available for tomorrow’s game against the New Jersey Devils (1 p.m.; Comcast SportsNet; SportsTalk 980) and will wear number 43.
The third-year professional is second among Hershey Bears in scoring with 20 goals and 27 assists for 47 points in 43 games this season. Fleischmann was the Bears’ leading scorer in the playoffs last season, posting 11 goals and 21 assists (32 points) in 20 games as Hershey won the Calder Cup.
