WASHINGTON, D.C. – March 5, 2007 – The Washington Capitals have recalled defenseman Mike Green from the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League, vice president and general manager George McPhee announced today.
Green, 21, began the season with Washington before being assigned to Hershey Feb. 15. The 6’1’’, 208-pound defenseman registered 10 points (two goals, eight assists) in 54 games for Washington, and has six points (two goals, four assists) in nine games with Hershey since his assignment. He was also named to this years’ NHL YoungStars Game, where he netted three assists for the winning Eastern Conference team.
A native of Calgary, Alberta, Green is available for tomorrow’s game at Toronto (Comcast SportsNet; WNTN- AM 570).
