ARLINGTON, Va. – The Washington Capitals have recalled defenseman Brian Fahey from the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL), vice president and general manager George McPhee announced today.
Fahey, 29, has played four games for the Capitals this season, most recently in Wednesday’s win at Carolina. He made his NHL debut Oct. 16 at Nashville. The 6’1”, 215-pound native of Des Plaines, Ill., has recorded seven points (2 goals, 5 assists) and a +7 rating in 13 games for the Bears this season. He has played 503 career games at the AHL and ECHL level combined.
Fahey, who wears No. 44 for the Capitals, was signed as a free agent July 7, 2010.
