by Capitals PR / Washington Capitals

ARLINGTON, Va. – The National Hockey League announced today the 2016 Stanley Cup Conference Quarterfinal round broadcast information between the Washington Capitals and the Philadelphia Flyers, which begins Thursday, April 14. Games 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7 will be broadcast on CSN in the Washington/Baltimore region. Broadcast information for Game 6 will be announced at a later date.

CSN will present Capitals Pregame Live, Capitals Postgame Live and #CapitalsTalk surrounding all seven potential first-round games, regardless of the network carrying the game.

All Capitals playoff games will broadcast on CBS Radio (WJFK 106.7 The Fan) as well as on WashingtonCaps.com and on Caps Mobile app. Access the broadcast on the app by clicking the radio button in the top right corner of the home screen. In addition to broadcasting the games, both stations will carry complete pre- and postgame shows. All games can also be heard on the new 24-hour radio channel, Caps Radio 24/7, devoted specifically to the Capitals and NHL. Caps Radio 24/7 will air Caps Talk live from 4-6 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, and for select weekend home game days.

The Capitals led the NHL with a 56-17-8 (120 points) record this season and captured their second Presidents’ Trophy in franchise history (2009-10). Washington set franchise records in wins and road wins (27) this season. In addition the Capitals reached the 100-point mark for the second consecutive season (2014-15: 101 points) and the ninth time in team history. Washington qualified for the playoffs for the 26th time in franchise history and the eighth time in the last nine seasons.

Washington will host Game 1, Game 2 and, if necessary Game 5 and 7 in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinal series.

The Capitals and Flyers met four times this season, with Washington posting a 2-0-2 record.

This is the fifth time the Capitals and Flyers have met in the postseason and the first playoff meeting between the teams since 2008. Washington defeated the Flyers in seven games in the 1988 playoffs and swept Philadelphia in a best-of-five series in the 1984 playoffs.
