Capitals Alumni Exhibition Jersey Auction

by Staff Writer / Washington Capitals
The Washington Capitals and Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation will host a jersey auction on Handbid featuring game-worn, autographed jerseys from its Alumni Exhibition game taking place during the 2016 Prospect Development Camp on June 29. The auction will open at noon on Tuesday, June 28, on Handbid and will conclude 15 minutes after the Capitals Alumni Exhibition game at Kettler Capitals Iceplex ends on Wednesday, June 29. All proceeds will benefit Pedal For Hope and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s National Capital Area chapter.

Handbid is a mobile-based bidding app that fans should download on their iPhone and Android devices if they would like to participate in the auction. Fans should ensure their phones or tablets are well charged for the game and those without smart phones may bid on iPads supplied by the Capitals at the MSE Foundation auction table during the game. Pedal For Hope is the charity of choice for Caps alumnus John Druce, who lost his daughter Courtney to cancer in April 2016. In 2005 Pedal For Hope was born from Cops for Cancer. For three weeks each year, the Peterborough, Ontario, Pedal For Hope team cycles 1,000 kilometers, visiting local schools delivering a message about kids living with cancer. A presentation in each school takes on a serious side about how important it is to support pediatric cancer research. The mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is: cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
