Capitals Announce 2005 Preseason Schedule
Team to Play Three Games at MCI Center, One in Hershey
– August 2, 2005 – The Washington Capitals today announced their 2005 preseason schedule, featuring eight games against four opponents, including three home games at MCI Center and one at Giant Center in Hershey, Pa.
The Capitals open their preseason schedule with back-to-back road games, at Carolina on Sept. 16 at RBC Center in Raleigh, N.C., and at Buffalo on Sept. 17 at HSBC Arena in Buffalo. The team makes their home debut against the Sabres on Sept. 21 at MCI Center at 7 p.m.
The preseason schedule also features a Capitals’ game against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Sept. 25 at Giant Center in Hershey, Pa., home of the Hershey Bears, Washington’s new American Hockey League affiliate. The team’s two remaining home games at MCI Center will take place on Sept. 30 against Pittsburgh and Oct. 1 against Philadelphia, both at 7 p.m.
The Capitals preseason road schedule includes games against Philadelphia on Sept. 24 at Wachovia Center in Philadelphia and against Pittsburgh on Oct. 2 at Mellon Arena, the last game of the preseason schedule. Overall, the Capitals will play three preseason games against Pittsburgh, two games against Buffalo and Philadelphia and one game against Carolina.
