Friday, November 2nd – Chicago Wolves 6 Rockford Ice Hogs 2
Chris Tanev scored his first goal since November 13, 2010, and Eddie Lack made 29 saves as the Chicago Wolves defeated the rival Rockford IceHogs 6-2 on Friday night.
Andrew Gordon, Brett Sterling, Jordan Schroeder, Bill Sweatt, and Andrew Ebbett also scored for the Wolves, who improved to 6-2-1-0 on the season, while also snapping a two-game losing streak.
Along with scoring his third of the season, Schroeder also added two assists for the Wolves, who scored twice in each period and held leads of 2-1 after 20 minutes, and 4-2 after 40 minutes.TY-BITS
-Along with Schroeder’s three-point night, Tanev (1-1-2) and Kassian (0-2-2) also had multi-point games.
-The last time Chris Tanev scored was during the 2010-11 AHL season, when he was a member of the Manitoba Moose.
-Brad Hunt, Peter Andersson, Derek Joslin, Steve Pinizzotto, Michael Davies, and Tim Miller also picked up assists.
-Andersson’s assist was his first career AHL.
-Kevin Connauton, who fought IceHogs forward Kyle Beach in the second period, had a team-high four shots.
-Final shots were 32-25 in favour of the IceHogs.
-The Wolves finished 2-for-9 on the power play, while the IceHogs were 1-for-5.

Sunday, November 4th – Charlotte Checkers 4 Chicago Wolves 1
After an offensive outburst on Friday night, the Chicago Wolves offense went cold on Sunday, dropping a 4-1 decision to the Charlotte Checkers.
After a scoreless first period, the Checkers opened the scoring 6:25 into the middle stanza, but the Wolves pulled even 10 minutes later as Brett Sterling scored his third goal of the season. Just over a minute later the Checkers league-best power play went to work and regained the lead, followed by another tally under a minute later to make it 3-1 Charlotte after 40 minutes.
The Wolves third period comeback never got going, as Chicago could only muster eight shots in the final period and the Checkers would add another goal in the to take the game 4-1. TY-BITS
-Brad Hunt and Andrew Ebbett picked up assists on the lone Wolves goal.
-Guillaume Desbiens dropped the gloves with Charlotte’s Brett Bellemore in the first period.
-Wolves goaltender Matt Climie made 30 saves as Charlotte out-shot Chicago 34-28.
-The Wolves finished 0-for-4 on the power play, while the Checkers went 1-for-4.
