Vancouver Canucks 2008 Training Camp to be Held in Whistler

Vancouver, B.C. – The Vancouver Canucks announced today that their 2008 Training Camp will take place in Whistler, British Columbia with on-ice activities beginning on Saturday, September 20th. Veterans will report to General Motors Place for pre-training camp medicals and testing on Friday, September 19th before travelling to Whistler.

The Canucks top prospects report to General Motors Place on Friday, September 12th for pre-training camp medicals and testing. Prospects will take to the ice at UBC on Saturday, September 13th and Sunday, September 14th. In addition to the on-ice activities in Vancouver, the Canucks top prospects will travel to Camrose, Alberta for a two day tournament versus the Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames top prospects on September 15th and 16th.

"We have tremendous support across the province and are pleased that we are able to bring the team to our fans in the Whistler area this year. The Canucks have received first class treatment from the fans and venue in Whistler previously and we look forward to continuing to build upon this relationship.”

The Vancouver Canucks held training camp in Calgary and Medicine Hat, Alberta during the club’s first four years in the NHL. Since then, the Canucks have held training camp throughout British Columbia including in Victoria, Courtenay, Powell River, Duncan, Parksville, Kamloops, Vernon and Whistler. The Canucks also held training camp in Stockholm, Sweden in 2000.
