Subban blog Vol. III

by Jordan Subban / Vancouver Canucks
Talk about a fitting end to a forgettable tournament.

We finished the Young Stars tournament with three loses, definitely not the result we were working towards, then post-game Monday night I broke my tooth. Allow me to explain.

After we got back to the hotel last night, I was in my room just hanging out when I heard some of the boys in the hallway. I poked my head out the door to see where they were headed, they said to eat and I had already had a bite, so I turned to go back into my room.

I don’t know what the heck happened, but next thing I knew half my front tooth was on the floor and there was a hole in the door. So now I look like Lloyd Christmas from Dumb & Dumber. Great.

Back to the tournament: tough not playing last night, especially with how the game went. It’s tough sitting out knowing you maybe could have helped the team, but I was able to suit up for two games and I’m happy with how I played. There’s obviously always room for improvement, so I’m going to take what the coaches tell me and apply it moving forward.

Next up is main camp, which begins this Thursday in Whistler. I’m very excited to get out and skate with the Canucks and see how I measure up; I’d say of all the Canucks, I look up to Dan Hamhuis the most. His skillset is great and he’s had a lot of great experience over the years. Hopefully I can learn a thing or 20 from him.

That’s it from Young Stars, I’ll check in later this week from Whistler.

Have a great week!
