Scott Mellanby named pro scout for Vancouver Canucks

Vancouver, B.C. – Vancouver Canucks General Manager Mike Gillis today announced that Scott Mellanby has been added to the club’s Pro Scouting department.
Mellanby joins the Pro Scouting department with 20 years of on-ice experience in the National Hockey League with five different teams.
Mellanby, 41, joined the Canucks organization as a Consultant to the General Manager in May, 2008, after retiring as a player following the 2006-07 season. In 20 years as a professional, Mellanby played 1431 games and recorded 840 points (364-476-840) and 2479 penalty minutes. Throughout his career, Mellanby displayed leadership both on and off of the ice which led to him being named the captain of both the Florida Panthers and Atlanta Thrashers.
Mellanby is a native of Montreal and now resides in the St. Louis area with his wife, Sue, and their sons, Carter and Nicholas and daughter, Courtney.
