Live to Give - Canucks Autism Network

by Staff Writer / Vancouver Canucks

Recognizing the increasing need to support BC families living with autism, the Canucks for Kids Fund has provided the newly formed Canucks Autism Network (CAN).

What do they do?

They work with children and families with Austism to provide a better life. They help kids out in the community to enjoy activities that they might be limited to, for instance, some kids will be taken to see Ratatouille at the Ridge.

What made you select them?

I wanted to learn more about their organization and also, I wanted to volunteer for a smaller organization where perhaps they might need some extra hands.

What was the best part – the highlight of your day?

I really enjoyed meeting the people who work for CAN. I also loved seeing children’s artwork hanging all over the office. It was very inspiring.

What did you learn today about giving back?

Taking time to volunteer with people who could use the extra help is important.

Why is it important for you to give back personally and as an employee of Canucks Sports & Entertainment?

It was a very gratifying experience to get out of the office to take time out of our busy lives to volunteer with people in need. Especially in such a fast-paced working environment. It was extremely refreshing!
