Reports to: Director, Retail & Consumer Products Marketing

SUMMARY: The Store Manager is responsible for the overall management of the Canucks off-site store, and for maintaining a high level of customer service while meeting and exceeding sales and profitability objectives set by the Retail division. The incumbent is also required to build brand recognition and increase market saturation within their local area through marketing and in store events. The Store Manager reports directly to the Director, Retail & Consumer Product Marketing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(other duties may be assigned as required)

Maximize Sales and Customer Service
  • Ensure employees are trained to provide professional and effective sales service to all customers in accordance with company policies and procedures, as well as working the sales floor themselves and driving business
  • Ensure effective and timely follow through on all customers, inquiries, complaints and special orders to achieve the highest level of service
  • Implement all seasonal sales contests, markdowns and game night specials
Store Operations
  • Work with the Director, Retail & Consumer Product Marketing on weekly sales break down
  • Ensure banking/cash are handled in accordance with policies
  • Review Loss Prevention techniques to eliminate shrinkage
  • Conduct inventory counts twice a year
  • Ensure shipping and receiving operates effectively
  • Implement employee recognition and incentive programs
  • Schedule part-time employees as required and manage shifts accordingly
Visual Presentation
  • Merchandise product in accordance with company standards and visual directions from the Retail Buyer/Merchandiser
Marketing /Events
  • Work with the Director, Retail & Consumer Product Marketing on sales promotions/ campaigns

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum 2 years’ retail management experience, with hard good retail sales preferred
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree, with retail or business management an asset
  • Solid working knowledge of MSWord, MS Excel.
  • Knowledge of POS systems beneficial
  • Able to prioritize and focus energy on projects as required
  • A team player, who is creative and dedicated to growing the retail business
  • Excellent knowledge of the retail industry
  • Excellent people skills, with an ability to interact effectively with staff and customers
  • Sales driven, detailed oriented
