Comets vs. Monarchs: Game 2

For the first time all post-season, the Utica Comets have dropped back-to-back games as they now find themselves down 0-2 to the Manchester Monarchs after a 2-1 overtime loss in Game 2 on Sunday afternoon.

Jacob Markstrom stopped 37-of-39 shots, keeping the Comets in the game, while Nicklas Jensen scored the lone-goal, his third of the playoffs.

The series now shifts to Utica for Games 3 and 4, along with Game 5 if necessary.

Game 3 goes Wednesday night. Puck drop is at 4pm PT.

Game 2: Monarchs 2 – Comets 1 (OT)

- After being scratched the last three games, Nicklas Jensen made a strong case for him to stay in the lineup with his early second period goal. The 22-year-old stole the puck at the blue line and wired it past Monarchs goaltender Jean Francois-Berube.

- In eight games coming off a loss, Jacob Markstrom has allowed two goals or less in all eight of those games.

- The Comets are now 3-5 in overtime games these playoffs, while also losing five of their last six games that have gone past regulation.
